This stainless-steel sculpture of a boat was put in place in 1990. It sits in a great location in the Reykjavik marina.
Sun Voyager
My friend called me tonight to ask me about my Iceland
trip. We don’t talk as much as we
should and it was nice to hear from him.
So tonight I am posting this Iceland picture for Mike. I hope he likes it.
Right on Saebraut Street in downtown Reykjavik Iceland along the harbor sits this beautiful sculpture called Sun Voyager. The sculpture is a dreamboat ode to the sun designed by Jon Gunnar Arnason.
Even though it is an ode to the sun, you can see I didn’t take this picture during a great sunny day. I actually took this 7-exposure HDR image at around midnight as the sun was going down on a stormy night. If it wasn’t for the storm, even after the sun went down, it would have remained light out.
This sculpture is so cool. I knew before our trip to Iceland I had to visit this location to see this amazing site. And I did. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in person.
