Max again

Here is a photo I took during the last couple laps of the FIA Formula 1 USGP in Austin Texas.  These race cars are super fast.  I’d get one good, focused photo out of every 10 photos.  I have one of the fasted shooting and focusing cameras in the world and the cars are too quick!!

It appears that Max Verstappen will win the 2021 season Championship with only a handful of races to go (he has a 12-point lead with 5 races to go).  That’ll make a ton of Red Bull racing fans happy, but I’d prefer to see Lewis Hamilton win his 8th Championship.  It doesn’t look like that will happen this year.  Max will probably get his first.

Chernobyl Crane Assembly

During our 2018 Chernobyl trip, we explored the city of Pripyat, Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plants and the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.  In the Exclusion Zone, we came upon this waterfront crane which was used to load and unload ships.  The entire crane is cool, but I focused my time capturing smaller sections of it to highlight the details.

Gary Indiana Fun

Here is a photo from a year ago, right before the world got locked down.  A small group of us (the Shutter Rush Team) went to Gary Indiana to photograph some of their many abandoned buildings.  This is an indoor elevated school track around the gym floor below.  I liked the leading lines, textures, and mood of the photo.

School Gym

I know tons of folks are posting cool Coronavirus blogs, photos, memes and other things that are generally humorous or encouraging others to be serious.  As most of you know, I work in healthcare.  So, I don’t have the energy right now for either of the above….not that I have a problem with it.  I’ll just leave you with this photo taken at an abandoned school in Gary Indiana.

Dual Sunrise

As I mentioned in my last post, I was attempting to capture the sunrise over the ocean in new and creative ways.  Tonight’s photo was taken from the jogging track on the Carnival Dream.  On the right is the actual sunrise.  On the left, the sunrise is reflecting off the windows to the on board steak house.  I hope you enjoy this different take on common photography subject.

Another Trolley

Here is another picture from the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum.  Sorry for the short post tonight, I’ve been busy.  I’ll have a more detailed post next time and I think it will be another from the ESP.

Pennsylvania Trolley Museum

MJ and I needed something to do on Saturday morning.  We’ve traveled the county and most of southwestern Pennsylvania a ton in the last three years.  But we’d never gone to this museum even though it isn’t far from our home.  It just wasn’t high on the “To Do” list.

Well it was nice because it was cheap, didn’t take to long (about 1.5 hours), they have about 30 different trolleys (some over 100 years old), and you get an actual trolley ride.   It wasn’t exactly uber exciting, but it was fairly interesting.

Today’s Photo:

I took this photo at the stop during the trolley ride, which allows everyone to walk the inside of the trolley storage facility.  It is a 7 exposure auto-bracketed shot (+3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3) HDR photo merged in Photomatix Pro and edited in Photoshop CS6.

Ant's Perspective

I imagine this is what it would look like from an Ant’s perspective.  I took this picture in Pittsburgh on the train track (captain obvious) while on a photo walk with Brad and Dave Truxell about a month ago.

Photo Technique:  This is a 7 exposure HDR images created with Photomatix Pro and Photoshop CS6.

Train Tracks To Somewhere

With the cold weather, I’ve been trapped inside more then I would like.  So I’ve been looking back at some photos I took during better weather for something to post for your viewing pleasure.  Tonight’s image is of some train tracks running through the north side of Pittsburgh.  Where they go, I have no idea.

Technique:

This was captured with a 9 set auto-bracket set (+4, +3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3, -4).  Merged together with Photomatix Pro and edited in Photoshop CS6.
