This was a great and beautiful morning, but what’s up with that little bit of sun at the top of the US Steel Building???
Confidante Pools
How is your weekend going so far? I hope it is amazing…..if not here is a photo of the Confidante Hotel pools on Miami Beach Florida. I took this photo right after sunrise, when the pools were empty. Otherwise, I’d never get a photo of this spot without tons of humans in and around the pools.
Colorful Chairs
When I pulled this photo up tonight before posting it, MJ said…”you don’t have colorful Easter eggs for them, but you have colorful chairs in that photo”. So I’m going with it!!
I took this photo on the east side of Bonaire at a Kite Surfing spot. The colors and textures caught my eye as we explored the area. Just looking at this photo, makes we want to go back. What an amazing country!! Everything about it is just beautiful.

Dream Spot
This beautiful spot (Tulum Mexico) is just that…beautiful. The beach was a great spot to hang out and just relax. I love this photo.

Pripyat Cultural Center
I took this photo inside the cultural center, which is in the City Center of the abandoned city of Pripyat Ukraine. This town was founded in February 1970 as the ninth nuclear city in the Soviet Union. It was built to serve and support the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Of course, after the nuclear disaster, the city and the entire surrounding area was evacuated.
In this room, you can see a former boxing ring that was set up. Note how the sun rays are highlighted in this photo…. That’s not from photo software editing magic…. Simon flew a drone around the room, which kicked up all this dust helping to create this affect (Great idea of Robert’s)

Pool View
Today’s photo is from the Grand Bahia Principe Akumal near Tulum Mexico. As I shared with you before, the drone police (security guard) made me put it away. Apparently, it’s scary for everyone that a drone is flying 400 feet above their head. Well, I got tons of photos before he came over and this is one of the many beauties I captured.

Prison Gym
On November 4th and 9th, I posted photos from this abandoned state prison. Tonight’s post is the gym within the prison. I loved the lighting in this gym and how the sun shining through the windows onto the floor help add so much interest to it.

Princess Cay Beach
Here is another photo from our time at Princess Cay Beach in the Bahamas. And you guessed it, this is also from my new drone.

Stairwell
When we explored this abandoned school, I walked up and down these stairs numerous times. It wasn’t until we were about to leave that I actually looked at them. The sun shining in through the windows, the colors of the walls, etc… It was just pretty. Do you agree?

Morning Sun
The beauty of waking up early for a sunrise is that normally I’m alone. Or mostly alone. The popular beach is abandoned. The resort pool is vacant. The Lido deck on a cruise ship is quiet. You get the point. It doesn’t seem to matter where we travel to, I can count on this phenomenon. Which allows me the opportunity to capture great photos without tourists in the way. And I’ve come to the realization that people around the world, all like to sleep in….

Aft Deck
This is a photo I took of the aft deck on the Carnival Vista on its maiden voyage. I should be clear, this was the maiden voyage with passengers (paying customers). I’m sure they did some sea test before allowing the passengers on the ship. Our stateroom was the upper deck in the middle. The area in the foreground of the photo is the Havana Bar & Pool area. What a cool new feature on the Carnival ships.

Carnival Sunset
Sorry that I’ve been absent. As you probably figured out, I was off taking photos. Tonight’s photo is from a recent cruise out of Miami. As we were leaving Miami, this Carnival cruise ship followed us out of the harbor. Lucky for me, the position of the ship, the sunset, and the city of Miami made for a great photo.
I love how simple this photo is. The subject, composition, and color are simple, but so beautiful. Anyway, I hope you like it as well.
Cruising
Tonight’s blog post will be short and sweet. I’m sharing a photo from the front of the Carnival Valor as it is sailing at approximately full speed through the Caribbean Sea just after sunrise. I don’t know about any other cruise line, but this is the closest Carnival will allow you at the front of the ship. If you look at the water, you can see the ship is moving fairly quick.
Caribbean Sun
The Beach
This is a 7-exposure auto-bracketed photo captured at sunrise from the Secrets Silversands Resort in Puerto Morelos Mexico. MJ and I got up every morning before sunrise to check the weather….just so I could capture some nice photos. As you can see, we succeeded.
Bar View
First, let me get this out of the way….. I know this isn’t a great photograph technically. The photography experts can point to all the problems with this photo. No need, I already know they exist.
Now, the reason I shared this photo was because of the great memories associated with this spot. This was the view from the beach side bar at the Secrets Silversands Resort in Puerto Morelos Mexico. I got up before the sun on numerous days to catch the sunrise. As you can tell, one of my favorite spots for watching the sunrise was from this bar. For the record, the bar wasn’t open at this time of the day…..so it wasn’t the drinks that made this a great sunrise spot.
Pelican Sunrise
Canonsburg Lake Sunset
I know, I know…..another boring sunset picture. I realize you’re getting bored of these. Please stick with me, even when I post boring stuff like this.
I took this 7 exposure auto-bracketed HDR photo last night. We had a very strong rainstorm run through the area about dinnertime last night. Following that, it looked like we’d have a nice evening. So I threw my stuff in the truck and drove up the road to capture this photo and just watch the sun go down.
