During my London visit, Robert showed me this cool alley to capture some wonderful images of the Shard, which is what they call the tall skyscraper in this photo. I liked this version from the numerous I took in this area. For this photo, I moved the camera right up next to a glass building to get this reflection.
Playa Sunrise
I hope you’re having a great weekend. This is one of the many great sunrises we had in Playa del Carmen Mexico.
Alcoa Arconic
I hope everyone in the United States has a great Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow.
Today’s photo is an image I took a few months ago in downtown Pittsburgh. This building sits on the North Shore next to the 7th Street Bridge. I took this photo at sunrise to get the sun reflecting off the glass.
Layers Of Water
I took this photo a few months ago during sunrise at the Point State Park. The water fountain at the “point” can make for some great photo opportunities throughout the day. Plus, you have the river in the background, which adds another layer of depth to the photo.
Sunrise Point
Brad, Blair and I met way, way, way too early this morning (my sleep will be messed up for a week) to photograph the sunrise in downtown Pittsburgh. For those of you who don’t know, there is a Pennsylvania state park positioned where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers come together to form the Ohio River in the heart of the city. The park’s name is Point State Park for obvious reasons.
Anyway, at the “point” in the park where the rivers come together is a large water fountain. They turn it on right after sunrise each day. We wanted to capture the sunrise reflection in the water of the fountain. Fortunately, it worked out since I’ve failed to capture this a few times in the past. We finally got a nice sunrise and sky, which made this image powerful.
Harpa Concert Hall
This is a very cool spot. This concert and conference venue was opened in 2011. It sits on the harbor in downtown Reykjavik, Iceland. The unique shapes of the glass panels are supposed to be inspired by the basalt landscape of the country.
Urbex Reflection
Visiting an abandoned building after a heavy rain results in great reflection photos. This one is from an abandoned automotive factory in Detroit.
Sun Reflection
Yesterday I posted a drone photo from Miami Beach. Today I have a drone photo I took from downtown Pittsburgh. I took this last August right before dusk with the sun shining off the glass buildings. Pittsburgh has a nice downtown area.
Detroit Urbe Reflections
Happy Friday night. Here is a 2018 throw back from a Detroit urban exploration photo weekend. I captured this photo upstairs in the Cadillac Stamping plant after it rained hard. I loved the refection of all the plumbing, metal work and industrial machinery.
South Haven Sunset
Here is another perspective from my time in South Haven Michigan…. I had a good time on this chilly night taking tons of photos as the sunset through dusk and into night…. As you can see, I captured this a little before sunset.
Cayman Pool
This photo and almost everyone I’ve posted in the last few months are from a better time…. We’ll get back to better times at some point. Until then, I’ll keep posting images that remind us of happier days and amazing places.

Pittsburgh Puddle
Here is another photo from last Sunday. We took advantage of this puddle for a nice reflection photo of the Fort Pitt Bridge.

Detroit Beauty
I took this photo a couple of years ago on the top floor (mechanical space) of an abandoned factory in Detroit. Thankfully, it rained hard that morning helping me capture this reflection in the rain puddle.

Detroit Reflections
Long before our current worldwide lock down….. a few of us went to Detroit to explore some abandoned buildings. This is from one of the abandoned auto manufacturing facilities. It rained hard the day before and that morning, which made for some great puddle reflections. This was from the attic space in the large factory. I loved the freight elevator in the background.

Sparks Fly
During the recent trip to Gary Indiana to film the 2nd Episode of “Shutter Rush” (look for it in the near future on Amazon Prime), we completed some Steel Wool photos in a number of locations. Jason did all the spinning while Jake, Blair, Mike, Bob and I captured it with video, photo and sound. This is from the basement of the abandoned U.S. Post Office.

Colts Reflection
Here is something a little different for you. I captured this photo at the Colts vs. Steelers game last season. I was walking behind the Colts bench area and noticed they had their shoe case split open. So, I squatted down to grab a quick photo and captured my reflection in the glass. That was also about the moment I got in trouble. Security came over and ran me off. We’re not allowed to take any still photos from behind the team bench area for some reason.
Reflection
I got home late from work tonight and received some terrible news. I’m not going to get into the subject, but it has me reflecting on my extended family…… Photo: this is from the Baltimore Inner Harbor.

Standing Water
I don’t know about your world, but I’ve had a long week. So….here is a photo I took in an abandoned Detroit factory without a long blog explanation. Just enjoy this beautiful photo of a sad building.

Abandoned Detroit
I don’t remember which factory building this photo came from. I’ve visited so many, they blur together…. I loved the reflection in the standing water.
By the way, I’m sorry I’ve been absent from my blog and social media. Life has just been very busy, but I won’t bore you with that. Enjoy tonight’s photo and have a great Friday tomorrow.
