Freiermuth's Drop

It has been a crazy busy month.  I haven’t been posting routinely…frankly, I haven’t even thought about positing.  Sorry about that, I’ve just been running hard with work activities.

Anyway, a week ago I went to Minnesota to cover the Steelers at Vikings game on Thursday Night Football.  That was my first time at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.  I must say it is an amazing facility.  I was very impressed.

I’ll post more photos from this game later, but for now here is the very last play of the game.  With time running out, the Steelers threw the pass into the End Zone to Tight End Pat Freiermuth.  If he had made the catch; the Steelers would have tied the game and they would have gone into Overtime.  But he was hit by three defenders at the same time and the football popped out of his hands.  This is the conclusion of that play, and you can see the ball slipping away from him.  I’m sure that was heartbreaking for him.

Pat Perry's Mural

We found this outstanding mural during our Detroit urban exploration weekend.  I love how the artist didn’t paint the entire wall, just used portions and left some of brick exposed as part of the mural.  He even worked around the windows and used one within the lantern.  I’m not 100% sure, but I think he painted this as part of the Murals in the Market festival.  You can see more of his work here: http://patperry.net/
