I’ve been to this facility two or three times in the past. It is truly a wonderful explore. This is one of my favorite all time graffiti art works. Maybe not the best done of all time, but I loved the use of the wall and floor.
This is from my last Detroit Urbex photography trip. This abandoned school auditorium was beautiful. This trip was great because of the guys who joined me.

I can’t remember which Detroit building this was in…. I should start keeping better track of these things. Anyway, I liked this graffiti mural within this facility.

I don’t know about your world, but I’ve had a long week. So….here is a photo I took in an abandoned Detroit factory without a long blog explanation. Just enjoy this beautiful photo of a sad building.

I haven’t posted a Detroit photo in a while, so here we go. We had a hit list of Detroit Urbex locations to hit up, but we also explored some sites that we randomly found, just driving around. That’s the story of this spot. We went to the Michigan Central Station (the building outside the window) to photograph the area around it. During that time, we found this abandoned beauty with great views like this photo. I took a bunch of window photos like this one at this spot.

During our epic Motown Urbex trip this spring, Blair and I went to the Cadillac Stamping Plant before the rest of the group arrived. It rained hard the day before and some while we were at the site. That created lots of flooded spaces including this mechanical rooftop area. That standing water helped provide lots of reflections like this. I loved the way the windows and elevator doors reflected off the water.

This is an amazing urbex spot in Detroit. I didn’t plan it or even think about this, but we arrived a day after heavy rain. So everything was damp and there was standing water everywhere….which turned out to be awesome!! I got a ton of great reflection shoots like this one which I took in the mechanical area of the roof top. Just cool stuff.

Our epic Detroit Urbex weekend was a great time. I took tons of photos, played tour guide to our group and explored some unique locations. A big part of the fun for me was the time I got to spend with my son. He’s grown into a fine photographer who enjoys trying to outperform me. And sometimes he does. He keeps me sharp and striving to get better.
