2024 F1 Miami Grand Prix

I’m still trying to recover from the 4 action packed days, sun up to sun down, covering this event. Here are a few track side photos from the Grand Prix on Sunday.

FIA Formula 1 series

I’ve enjoyed the start of the 2023 FIA Formula 1 season so far.  I can’t wait until the next race that I can attend.  Until then, here is a small series of photos I took at the United States Grand Prix last October.

2022 FIA Formula 1 United States Grand Prix

A small sample of the thousands of photos I took today (Race Day). I took just as many the last two days leading up to today capturing all the pre-race activities, practice, qualifying and parties. Make sure you scroll down to see the numerous galleries.

F1 coming at you

I’m still going through my photos from the 2022 Miami Grand Prix race weekend.  Per normal, we moved around the venue to capture photos from many perspectives.  All these photos were taken in the same corner as the cars came at me.  I thought you might like them, since it’s a different composition from the normal racing photos.

Is 2022 Checo's Year?

Sergio Perez (nicknamed Checo) is performing at an amazing level this season.  He’d be leading in the Driver’s Championship, if Red Bull had just let him race at the Spain Grand Prix.  Towards the end of that race, the Red Bull team ordered him to let his teammate (Max) pass giving Max the win.  Checo probably would have won that race to go along with his win at Monaco last weekend.  He should be leading the Driver’s Championship instead of being a few points behind Max.

At this point, if a Red Bull driver is going to win, I’m cheering for Checo.  Here are some photos I took of him this season at the Miami Grand Prix.

2022 FIA Formula 1 Season About to Start

I’m still worried about and tracking progress in Ukraine, but I’m posting about something else today.  That doesn’t mean I stopped caring…...

Anyway, here is a video put together from our time at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin Texas.

I’m very excited about the upcoming F1 season kickoff.  Anyone else?

FIA W Series

During our weekend photographing the 2021 FIA Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix, we also got a chance to cover the FIA Formula 4 and FIA W Series.  The W Series is a race league setup only for women drivers.  I enjoyed watching and photographing them and the Formula 4 activities.  Here are a few of my photos of the W Series….very talented drivers in this league.  It’s only a matter of time before some of them show up in Formula 1.

Missing F1

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m ready for the 2022 Formula 1 season to start…even though the 2021 season just finished a couple weeks ago.  Here are a few photos I took last October at the FIA Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in Austin Texas.

Sebastian Vettel - Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team

Valtteri Bottas - Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team

Sergio Perez - Red Bull Racing Honda

Bagger Mayhem Racing

Here are a few photos from the Sonoma Raceway.  I was there with @baggermayhem racing team working as part of their digital/media team.  These photos are of their Bagger GP bike.

Big thanks to them for allowing me to be a part of the team.  I also want to thank all the great folks at their sponsors @harddriveparts @flomotorsports @vosshelmets @michelinmotorcycle @pennohiocycles

Here are more photos from the Bagger Racing League.  This time I’m posting photos of @baggermayhem racing (BMR) team’s Lite Weight bike

Winner...Max Verstappen

@jasonpohuski and I hustled to the finish line to make sure we captured the end of the FIA F1 USGP race.  Red Bull Racing Honda’s Max Verstappen won the race with his rival (Lewis Hamilton who drives for Mercedes) right behind him in 2nd place.  It was a fun event to cover and probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever photographed.  It was a technical and logistical challenge from the beginning to the end.

About this photo, the winning pit crew always runs to the wall to cheer for their driver going passed the finish line.  At this track, at this time of day, it was a tough shot to get because of the harsh sun, shadows from the grandstands, the speed of the car and several other factors.  So it isn’t the best photo in the world, but it captures some of the emotion involved in the sport.
