Here is a photo I took back in 2017 that hasn’t been shared with the world. It has been sitting on my hard drive waiting for me to release it on the world…. So here you go.

Here is a photo that’s been sitting on my hard drive for a couple of years waiting for it’s turn to shine. I took this just after sunset from the Top Of The Rock.

I love traveling everywhere, but there is something special about Manhattan. I took this photo in August during our last trip to NYC. This is in midtown Manhattan on West 42nd Street. MJ and I were just walking by and I happened to look up….this was the result.

MJ and I spent hours at the Top Of The Rock during our last visit to NYC. What a great time….at least for me. MJ tolerates my photography obsession. She stayed with me on top of that building hours longer then most people would. This photo is from that summer evening before the sun set.

Don’t forget to check out my photo galleries. I recently updated them.
As I process photos, I jump around. I almost never process all the photos from one location all in a row. I’ll process some from NYC, then Peru, then Pittsburgh, etc…. I like the variety and it keeps me from processing a location the same way. Plus it is a nice reminder to me as I process photos how wonderful my travels have been. I don’t forget the trips as fast and I can relive the moments. Well tonight’s photo is from the top of Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. MJ was a super trooper. She displayed amazing patience as we stayed on the top of this skyscraper for almost 3 hours as we waited for the sunset and stayed up there long afterward.
I’ve been to NYC a few times in the past and each time my hotel was about a block from this amazing building. Every time I went, I said that I have to get inside and just ran out of time. So on the last trip, MJ and I took a few hours out of our day to walk around this great facility. Of the dozens, maybe hundreds of people in the building with us, I had to have been the only person who entered just to photograph the architecture. What a great location!!! And it’s free to enter. Good times.
Quick post tonight. Prior to our trip to NYC, we purchased tickets in advance so that we could be at the Top Of The Rock observation Deck (Rockefeller Center) at sunset. I heard from another photographer that it would be very crowded. So as soon as we got there, I should find a spot at the railing and not leave that spot. Otherwise, I’d never get a spot to photograph from again with all the people.
And I can tell you, that was great advice. We got up there about 1 hour before sunset and almost didn’t get a spot. Once I secured my spot, I couldn’t really move even if I wanted to. It was so crowded up there and at times it was six people deep all the way around the observation deck. MJ was a super wife and patiently waited at the top of this building with me for over two hours while I took over 900 photos. I photographed the skyline as it changed from full sun, to sunset, then blue hour and finally to full night sky. I just took a ton of photos as the sky changed. I loved it. MJ tolerated it, but as always she didn’t complain.
