This stainless-steel sculpture of a boat was put in place in 1990. It sits in a great location in the Reykjavik marina.
Jamaica Glory
Here is a drone photo I took a couple of years ago while the Carnival Glory was docked in Jamaica. I love the color of the Caribbean Sea.
Grand Harbour
It has been a while since I posted a photo from Europe. Tonight’s the night….so here is a photo of the Grand Harbour in Valletta Malta. This was such an amazing looking city. Of all the European cities we visited, this is one spot I want to return to again. I’ll just say it’s back on our bucket list again.

Dry Dock
Tonight, I have something a little different for you. I don’t often take many marine industrial photos, but MJ and I came upon this spot in Cape Town South Africa and I couldn’t help myself. I thought the ships sitting here in various stages of repair were interesting….. along with the unusual clouds on the left side of the sky. There is probably a scientific name for that type of cloud, but I don’t know what it is. Do you?

Dubrovnik's Marina
This Croatia city is beautiful. The ancient walled city within Dubrovnik is a wonderful location….well worth the trip. I took this photo standing on top of the ancient wall looking down at the marina. You can see some of the wall on the left side of the photo. I want to go back right now…..

Marina
Miami Port Sunrise
This might not be a popular photo with most of you, but I like it a ton. Maybe because I was there watching the sun come up in Miami from the back of a cruise boat. There is always something special about experiencing an event vs. seeing it in a photo. That may be a funny thing to read from a photographer, but its how I feel about the subject. Don’t get me wrong, I always try to capture the moment, but admittedly I fail more times then I succeed. It’s very hard to capture the feeling, emotion, and senses you experience in a photo. This photo is a great example. The photo can’t capture the warm breeze as it blew past our cabin balcony. The photo can’t capture how I felt as the sun came up. The buildings went from being in the shadows of the night, to reflecting a beautiful orange glow of the morning.
Anyway, there are usually a ton of reasons why I like some photos that might not seem wonderful at first glance. But they all have meaning for me and that is often why I share them with you.
Valletta Harbor
This stop in Malta was amazing. I’d put Vellatta on my “return to” list in a second. Although next time, I want to see more of the country. This city had everything you’d want. Clean, safe, historical, beautiful, and just a whole lot of fun. I hope you like the photo that can’t do justice to actually standing there viewing it with your own eyes.
The Beautiful Gustavia
Last December we had a great trip to St. Maarten. During that trip, we took a day excursion over to St. Barts. What a great little island…expensive, but fun. We hiked up a hill to get this great view of Gustavia. Boy it was worth the walk.
St. Maarten Rooftopping
When we visited St. Maartin, we stayed at the Simpson Bay Resort and Marina. The resort has a wonderful roof access that allows for a beautiful 180 degree view of the famous Simpson Bay. So I took advantage of this and took a ton of photos of the bay. But to be honest, this photo I took looking straight down at the resort pool was one of my favorites from this location.
