My happy place when we’re not on the road. Enough said!!
Spreading Salt
Like many areas of the country today, we got a little bit of snow (maybe 3 inches). So I took advantage of the situation and got outside to capture some winter photos, including some drone photography….. This is a photo of our home with Blair spreading salt on the driveway (look closely).

Beast
I don’t know what to say about James Harrison. If he is on your favorite team, you’d love him. If he isn’t, you hate him. Regardless, he’s been a force in the NFL for many years. I hope everyone has a great NFL Kickoff Weekend.

Athens Home Front
After exploring the Acropolis and Parthenonas in Athens Greece, I passed this home walking down the street on my way to lunch. The front of the home caught my eye and it resulted in this photo.

Residential Door in Maras Peru
After a tour of the Salinas de Maras (salt flats) and Moray (Inca archaeological concentric terraces), we spent some time in the small village of Maras. This very small village had narrow cobble stone streets with lots of interesting residential doors. This picture is an example of one such door. You can’t tell by looking at the picture, but the doors were only about 5 feet tall, which was typical of the doors in many old residential structures around Peru. The old government and cathedrals were the exact opposite. Many of them had doors over 20 feet tall.
Anyway, something about these doors caught my attention and I spent some time capturing them with my camera. By the way, I’ll post some pictures from the Salinas de Maras and Moray in the future.
Have a great weekend.
Sandra Bullock’s Home
Honestly, I don’t really care much about celebrities. They’re just people we put on a high pillar for no reason. They’re no better then you and me. That said, I did like Sandra Bullock’s home in the Garden District of New Orleans. In fact, I liked the entire neighborhood. As MJ and I were walking through the area, somebody pointed out her home to us.
Day Room
This is another photo from my trip to the abandoned Brownsville General Hospital in Brownsville PA. I think this would have been called the Day Room (or living room) in the nursing dormitory area. I found it very interesting that when they closed this facility; they just left furniture, patient files, clothing, etc… in just about every room. The people just disappeared and they left everything behind.
Happy Halloween – Scary Hospital Ward
Today’s photo is of a hospital ward from within the
abandoned Brownsville General Hospital.
Brad, Dave and I did a little Urbex (urban exploration) looking for some
great photo opportunities. Not
only did we capture some great photos, but exploring these old sites is very
interesting. The architecture,
design, and building materials of old structures are amazing compared to new
facilities. What can I say? I am a sucker for old buildings and you
can see why with this photo.
Santa's House & Fund Raising
During my photo walk last Wednesday night; we came upon Santa’s House at Market Square in downtown Pittsburgh. As you can see, there was no line waiting to sit on Santa’s lap. You can also drop off your letter to Santa in the mailbox to the left of the house. This is setup in the middle of Market Square, which is little festival area where they hold different events just about every week with little shops and restaurants surrounding this square. The Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG) Plaza is next to it and partly attached.
TONIGHT:
MJ and I are going to Community Action Southwest’s Olde Fashioned Christmas fund raising event. I am on the Board of Directors of this wonderful non-profit organization that runs a number of programs, which all strive to eleminate poverty in our community. I donated one of my framed pictures for them to auction off tonight. I hope the organization raises a bunch of money, all of which goes direct to their great programs. If you would like to donate directly and can’t attend tonight, you can do so at:
