Cruz Seru Largu

Seru Largu means large hill and from this large hill in Bonaire you can see the capital city (Kralendijk) and the island of Klein Bonaire.  A religious group constructed this monument with the words “Krisu Ayera Awe Semper” which means “Christ, Yesterday, Today and Forever”.  Not only do you get a great view from this spot to see the island, but this small monument is pretty cool as well.

Immaculate Heart Of Mary Church

This church is referred to in Polish as Kościół Matki Boskiej.  It is a historic church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, one of the city’s oldest (dedicated 1905) and largest churches.  It is located on Polish Hill and is a prime example of ‘Polish Cathedral’ style modeled on St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

I met Dave and Brad last Sunday in this area to photograph an abandoned school.  I got there a little early and decided to go inside this beautiful church.  To my surprise it was not only amazing but still had all their Christmas decorations still on display.  And they welcomed me inside and let me take all the photos I wanted.  On top of that, the abandoned school was a bust.  So I got some great photos of a great building, just not the one I expected to get inside.  I hope you like it.

Penn Brewery

A few weeks ago when Brad and I photographed the Heinz Lofts, we went across the street to take a look at Penn Brewery.  As you can see, I captured a photo I liked.  The Penn Brewery, also known as the Pennsylvania Brewing Company, is a brewery and restaurant in the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh.  Tom Pastorius started the brewery in 1986.  This was the site of the former Eberhardt and Ober Brewery, which was founded in 1848.
