Chernobyl Basketball Courts
I’m shocked and happy that the Ukrainian people (civilians and military) are holding the Russian military back. Surprisingly, the Russian military doesn’t seem very competent, despite their advantage in equipment, size and training.
Here are some photos I took inside to abandoned basketball courts within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Gary Indiana Fun
Here is a photo from a year ago, right before the world got locked down. A small group of us (the Shutter Rush Team) went to Gary Indiana to photograph some of their many abandoned buildings. This is an indoor elevated school track around the gym floor below. I liked the leading lines, textures, and mood of the photo.
Abandoned School Gym
Right before the COVID outbreak in the United States, a few of us completed a road trip to Gary Indiana for the sole purpose of photographing a bunch of abandoned buildings. This is one of the many gyms we explored during trip.

School Gym
I know tons of folks are posting cool Coronavirus blogs, photos, memes and other things that are generally humorous or encouraging others to be serious. As most of you know, I work in healthcare. So, I don’t have the energy right now for either of the above….not that I have a problem with it. I’ll just leave you with this photo taken at an abandoned school in Gary Indiana.

Pripyat Gym
I couldn’t tell you which building this was in, we explored so many and I saw numerous gyms. But I can tell you this is in the town of Pripyat, just outside the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Wow, what an experience!!!

Sneakers
This photo is from our Detroit Urbex trip last spring. We visited a ton of sites while we were there. This is from Bradley Elementary School. This was one of those old style gyms that they also used as the cafeteria. You know the type, where the tables and benches fold up into the walls to clear the space for gym class.

Prison Gym
On November 4th and 9th, I posted photos from this abandoned state prison. Tonight’s post is the gym within the prison. I loved the lighting in this gym and how the sun shining through the windows onto the floor help add so much interest to it.

Old School Gym
Here is another picture from the abandoned school in East
Liberty area of Pittsburgh.
Interestingly, this gym was on the 4th floor of the
school. Back in the day, I bet
this was an amazing room for the school kids. Now it is homeless heaven. There was evidence throughout the building of homeless using
the building.

I created this photo with a 7-exposure auto-bracket set. I merged the images together with Photomatix Pro and edited it in Photoshop CS6.
