I loved Budapest and really want to go back. But as we all know, that’s not likely to happen in today’s COVID world. I captured this photo during our European river cruise using my drone.
Regensburg Clock Tower
This college town was the start of our 2019 European river cruise down the Danube River. This is a great little city….
Monastery in Kiev
When the world returns to normal, Blair wants to go back to Ukraine to visit Chernobyl again…and I’m ready as well. This is the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery in Kiev. It has a Cathedral, bell tower, refectory and gates, which are all built in the Ukrainian Baroque Style.
Blair and I visited this spot while completing a huge photo walk around a number of historic locations in the city near the Dnieper River.
Soviet Propaganda
I took this photo these Soviet Statues under the People’s Friendship Arch in Kiev back in 2018. The Arch, you can see a portion of it on the right side, and these Hero’s Statues were constructed in 1982. They are supposed to depict friendship between Russian and Ukrainian peoples (soldiers - left statue and workers - right statue).
After the fall of the Soviet Union, the Ukrainian government announced plans to dismantle the arch as part of their 2016 decommunization laws.
Hungarian Parliament Building
Here is a short video I took with my drone above the Danube River near the Hungarian Parliament building last year.
Hungarian Parliament
Our trip in 2019 to Hungary was wonderful and we got a chance to experience this building inside and out. The Hungarian Parliament Building is a landmark gothic revival style and is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary. It sits on the Pest side of the city on the Danube River. This is one of hundreds of reasons to like Budapest along with the food, skyline, history, etc…. I could go on forever. Great stuff!!!

St. Martin's Cathedral
This wonderful cathedral in Bratislava Slovakia is a beauty!! What is lacks in size (it’s a small cathedral compared to most), it makes up in beautiful details. When we stopped in Bratislava, I didn’t plan to visit this church, but I’m glad I did…. By the way, the city of Bratislava is amazing as well. Most Americans have probably never heard of this European city….regardless it is a must see.

I loved my time in Regensburg Germany. This small college city was great with some wonderful historic sites including the bridge, clock tower and cathedral in this photo. I captured this at dusk with my drone.

Melk Abbey
From a better time in our lives…. One year ago, we went on an European River Cruise. One of our many stops was at this wonderful Abbey….
This is a Benedictine Abbey looking down on Melk, Austria. The Abbey was founded in 1089….. the first portion of the complex was built long before that.

Szechenyi Chain Bridge
We had such an amazing time last year on the European river cruise. Our trip ended in Budapest. I can’t think of a better city to end the cruise at for a trip like that. It was so wonderful.
This photo is from that trip. I took this long exposure photo with my drone looking down at the Szechenyi Chain Bridge with Pest side of the city in the back ground…. You can also see a couple river cruise boats along the river side on each side of the bridge.
