U.S. Capital Building

It’s been a minute since I was last in Washington D.C., which seems weird since I’ve been there so many times in the past.  If you’ve never been, it is worth a visit.  Here is a series of photos from my last photo walk around the Capital Building.

This is how it should look

I’m still sickened by the actions of a few thousand individuals in our nation’s capital this week.  Not only did they harm individuals, but they harmed “the people’s house”.  This is how it should look when people behave.

By the way, I took this photo in 2019.

National Museum of African American History and Culture

Like many things in the COVID world, this great museum is closed right now….  I love the architecture of this building, which is so different compared to the rest of the Smithsonian facilities on the Washington Mall.  Good stuff.

National Cathedral Basement

I’ve been absent from my website and social media the last 10 days.  It just didn’t make sense to post my silly photos with everything significant going on in the world.  We’re far from any real new or better “normal”, but I’m going to try to get back into my routine of posting photos.

So tonight, I’m sharing a photo from one of the many Naves (this one in the basement) in the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.

US Capital Building

It’s been over a year since I was in Washington D.C. last.  Which for me is a long time since my last D.C. trip.  Not counting the cities I have lived in, D.C. is the location I’ve visited most by a long shot (90% of my trips to D.C. were work related).

I captured this photo on my last trip in 2018.  Like most situations, I’m usually the only person standing in the dark or near dark waiting for just the right moment…  This is the result.

National Museum of African American History and Culture

I don’t know about anyone else, but I think Washington DC is a beautiful city filled with history, culture and patriotic symbols.  I always enjoy walking around the monuments and buildings by myself at night.  During my last trip, I spent some time capturing a ton of images around this beautiful architectural marvel.
