I don’t remember where in Athens I took this photo, but I do know it was in Athens Greece. It’s probably a couple thousand-year-old historic site that is super famous…. But I still don’t remember the location.
Iconic Urbex Cathedral
This is the beautiful St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral. I’ve been to this spot numerous times. Its an iconic urbex location.
Halsanefshelier Sea Cave
Here is another great spot in Iceland. You can’t see the three sea caves (one to our right and two to our left) in this photo. There are a number of spots around Iceland where you can see basalt shaped rocks like this created by past lava flow. This spot has tons of them, and they are super big. The make up the entire structure of the caves and the area around them.
You can get some idea of the scale of them, just by seeing us sitting on a couple of them. This photo probably includes 1% of them in this area.
The location also has a very cool black pebble stone beach. We didn’t go to this spot on our first Iceland trip, but I’m very glad we did on this trip. Great experience!!
Abandoned Detroit
Honestly, I don’t remember which location this is around Detroit. I think it is the Fisher Body Plant, but I’m probably wrong. Either way, I like the final outcome of the photo from 2019
Urbex Reflection
Visiting an abandoned building after a heavy rain results in great reflection photos. This one is from an abandoned automotive factory in Detroit.
Abandoned Beauty
It’s been a while since I was in this beautiful cathedral. The last few times I tried it was locked up, which is fine. I don’t break anything (doors, locks, etc..) when I go to a location. I wonder about its current condition after some time has gone by…..

Jefferson Memorial
I hope you’re having a great day. Here is a photo I took 2 years ago of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. I love the look of all that marble.

Capital (Night-Rear)
Tonight’s photo is the opposite of my last post. That was a daytime photo taken from the front of the U.S. Capital Building. This is a night photo taken from the opposite side.

Cadillac Stamping Plant
I hope everyone is safe out there…. We’re doing our best to follow the rules (stay home, etc…). Of course, I am still going to work and helping a wonderful team deal with the world-wide crisis.
It’ll be a long time (I think it could months yet…maybe into the fall) before we’ll be allowed to return to normal. So, I’m preparing myself mentally for that potential outcome. One technique I’m going to use is my photography. It’s great during normal times to help reduce my stress, so I’ll continue to use it. Each photo reminds me of a trip, location or photo op from a safer time in our world history.
This photo is from a prior trip to Detroit, when a small group of us explored a few wonderful sites.

Marseille
What do you think of this cathedral? Or should I say, cathedral walls and ceiling? I couldn’t really get a good photo aimed lower due to the dozens of tourists in the way. So, I aimed higher to avoid them ruining my photo. This cathedral is the amazing Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde. Otherwise known as “the Mariners church”. It sits up on a large hill overlooking the city of Marseille France and the beautiful southern France coast.
The stripped interior design is very unique for a church or frankly any building interior. The inside also has a great collection of small scale boat models (donated by sailors) on shelves and hanging from the ceiling. The sailors give them upon returning from a dangerous trip or in advance to bring them safety. The construction was completed in 1864 with parts of it started in 1214. Amazing spot!!

Croatia Cloister
I loved this spot inside the ancient walled city of Dubrovnik. We stumbled upon this Cloister hidden among the tons of ancient architectural wonders. Its an amazing old city.

Athens Ruins
Athens wasn’t my favorite destination, but I’m glad I had a chance to see many of the sites. During some free time, I wandered around and found this site. I honestly don’t know the details, history or name, but it was a great site.
