I took this photo last weekend during sunrise in Pittsburgh. We got a good show from Mother Nature that morning.
Fort Pitt Bridge Blue Hour
Here is a photo from Memorial Day morning. It was a wonderful blue hour down along the river. The water was so calm that it helped make the photo better.
Fort Pitt Bridge
Sorry for my absence. I’ll explain when we see each other next. Until then, here are a couple photos I took this morning while out on a photo walk with Brad and Dave.
Burgh’s Smithfield Bridge
It’s been a while since I did a photo walk in downtown Pittsburgh. This photo is from just before the pandemic. It is weird how time seems to have changed speed during COVID. Some things appear to be going faster and some slower. The pandemic has negatively impacted my photography opportunities.
Regardless, I always liked this photo with the city bus passing by as I took the exposure.
Clemente Bridge Sidewalk
Brad dragged me out of the house on a recent, very cold morning to take some photos, which turned out great. I didn’t love getting up at 530am, but we had a good time. Big thanks to Brad.
I captured this photo on the Clemente Bridge that morning.
Pittsburgh Mornings
Here are a few photos from a cold spring morning. I captured these from the West End Bridge. We got honored with a wonderful sky that morning.
Times Square
I took this photo prior to COVID-19, so it isn’t new. It’s been waiting on my hard drive for its turn to shine. What I like about this photo is the demonstration of speed/movement, since Manhattan is always in motion.
Sunrise Seattle
MJ and I spent a little time early one morning at Kerry Park in Seattle. Great views from this spot.
MJ and at at Kerry Park in Seattle….location where I took the photos above
Reykjavik Graffiti
I captured this photo in downtown Reykjavik at around midnight last summer. I took one night and walked around the harbor and downtown area taking as many photos as I could. The place was completely empty.
Great Downtown
It doesn’t matter how many times I go to downtown Pittsburgh; I’m always impressed. I think Pittsburgh has one of the best downtown areas of all cities in the U.S. Do you agree?
I took this from the North Shore a few months ago.
London’s Tower Bridge
Here is another photo from my spring trip to London. This photo was the product of an early morning photo walk with Robert. We got lucky with a nice sunrise.
Regensburg and Danube River
Here is a throwback to our 2019 Europe river cruise. We started in this beautiful town in Germany. I loved the medieval architecture, cathedrals and bridges. It just made for a very photographic spot.
Points
Today’s post is a photo from downtown Pittsburgh. This is PPG Place. Someday, I want to explore the inside of this building. The outside is amazing looking and for some reason, I’ve imagined the inside as being just an average business office. If anyone at PPG Place wants to prove me wrong, DM me.
Pittsburgh's Downtown
Here is a photo from last Sunday. I met up with David for dinner and a few photos. I captured this at dusk from the North Shore looking across the river towards downtown.
Girl With A Dolphin – Tower Bridge
Here is another photo from my time in London. This lovely little statute sits near the historic Tower Bridge on the Thames River.
The Shard Reflection
During my London visit, Robert showed me this cool alley to capture some wonderful images of the Shard, which is what they call the tall skyscraper in this photo. I liked this version from the numerous I took in this area. For this photo, I moved the camera right up next to a glass building to get this reflection.
Tower Bridge
During a trip to London, I got a chance to visit a few amazing sites, conduct business and visit with friends (Karl and Robert). I am very thankful to them for showing me the city and sharing a few pints. A couple days after our nice visit, I met up with Robert again before sunrise (he wasn’t happy about getting up early) to capture some photos around Tower Bridge on the Thames River. I got some great photos that morning. Here is one from the street at the beginning of the bridge before sunrise. I’ll post some more photos from this morning in the future.
By the way, I had a great time with my work peers, our attorneys, and the Howden insurance brokers as well.
Cloud Covered Pittsburgh
How was your week? I’m glad the work week is over…. Happy thoughts the rest of the weekend is my only goal. This photo represents a past happy moment when Blair and I were hanging out at the Point State Park taking photos and just talking. If you look close, we’re the two people in front of the fountain.
Let The Sun Shine Through
I took this drone photo during the pandemic, but honestly, I don’t remember when. It seems like the last two years have been a blur. So, the context of dates during that time is just off in my head. Maybe that’s stress from work during this time, maybe it is just old age…. Regardless, it wasn’t taken last week.
This is downtown Pittsburgh right after sunrise.
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood
Pittsburgh was Mr. Rogers hometown and they have this statute of him along the river. It’s a nice tribute to him and his approach towards life. The city looks pretty good in the background as well.
