I don’t know why I didn’t post this photo already. I took this in 2018 during our trip to South Africa and I really like it.
Mystery Flower
I have no idea what type of flower this is. Does anyone out there know? I’m sure someone (or a bunch of people) does. Anyway, I captured this photo in a botanical garden near Cape Town South Africa in 2017.
Cape Town Park
I took this photo during our South Africa trip at the end of 2017. We spent a little time in this park checking out the plants, flowers, and animals. I wanted to check out where this path went to, but I didn’t get the chance. What a beautiful spot. Can you imagine having this amazing park in your hometown?

African Penguin
I’m tired tonight. So here is a very short post. Enjoy this photo of an African Penguin, otherwise known as Jackass Penguin. I took this photo at Boulders Beach in South Africa. These little guys were all over the place….maybe a couple hundred of them…. I don’t know for sure (they don’t hold still while you count), but they were very cute.

Splash!!
I must have taken a couple hundred photos at this exact spot capturing the waves as they crashed up on the rocks behind the sea lions trying to capture the perfect moment when the entire scene came together. I doubt I captured the perfect image, but it turned out pretty good. In case you’re wondering, this spot is at the southern tip of Cape Peninsula in Western Cape South Africa.

Boschendal Winery
I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ll say it again. South Africa was AMAZING!! It’s on my “return to” list. We had such a wonderful time. Great food. Beautiful landscapes. Cool wildlife. We lucked out with great weather. Extremely affordable and we visited some outstanding wineries. One of them was this cool estate called Boschendal Winery. They had this great outdoor setting where we sampled numerous wines. Here is the link to their site: http://www.boschendal.com/

The Big Wheel
Today’s photo is from Cape Town South Africa. This huge Ferris wheel sits in the wonderful marina area of the city. There are a bunch of museums, shops, restaurants, bars, etc… in this area. We were there in the middle of a week day and the place had all kinds of people hanging out. I’d go back tomorrow, except for that thing call “work”.

Hout Bay
It’s been a little while since I posted a South Africa photo. And as you all know, I loved that trip. Anyway, here’s a panorama photo looking over Hout Bay towards Harbour Heights on Cape Peninsula in the Western Cape region of the country….. Just beautiful. In case you didn’t know, this is in the Southwestern corner on the country on the Atlantic Ocean side of the continent.

Pedestrian Bridge
Short post for you tonight. I’m running behind tonight….thus the quick post. So here goes. This is the Pedestrian Bridge in the marina area of Cape Town South Africa. I enjoyed walking around this area and taking it all in.
Sorry I have to run.

President Pool
Happy Friday. This is the pool at the President Hotel in Cape Town. During our stay, I sat in this pool for at least an hour one night talking with our group, which is an amazing feat, since the water temperature was extremely cold. MJ didn’t even want to put her feet in the water. They pump the water into it from the Atlantic Ocean and it isn’t remotely close to warm. Regardless, the location was beautiful, and the company was great.

Penguin
It’s been a long week and we’re not done yet. So I’m having a small brain freeze right now and don’t have much to say. So I’ll just keep it short and share this cute photo of this African Penguin (also called a Jackass Penguin). I took this photo last October at Boulders Beach in South Africa.

Stellenbosch
This is such an amazingly pretty little college town in the Western Cape region of South Africa. The architecture in Stellenbosch was this great Dutch style going back hundreds of years. We spent an entire day out sampling wine and touring the country side. We had a great day in this area. Of course, I snapped hundreds (maybe 1,000+) of photos throughout the day like this one.

Baby Goose
While in Cape Town (before their water troubles), we went to their botanical gardens and found more animals. These two little cuties were following their mother through the flowers. I believe these are Egyptian Geese. Maybe in the future I’ll post a photo of the mother who was also pretty.

Dry Dock
Tonight, I have something a little different for you. I don’t often take many marine industrial photos, but MJ and I came upon this spot in Cape Town South Africa and I couldn’t help myself. I thought the ships sitting here in various stages of repair were interesting….. along with the unusual clouds on the left side of the sky. There is probably a scientific name for that type of cloud, but I don’t know what it is. Do you?

President Hotel
I hope you have a great Friday and weekend. I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted and just want to sleep all weekend. So I’ll post this photo from the President Hotel in Cape Town South Africa for you to review, while I nap for the next two days. I took this photo at dinner time, just after sunset. The pool at this hotel was unique and I couldn’t capture enough photos of it. You can see why….just beautiful.

South Africa's Coast
I took this photo as we traveled around Cape Peninsula in South Africa. The view was amazing and I enjoyed every minute. Can you tell I took this photo through the bus window? I doubt it. Would it have been better if I could have setup on my tripod and took my time to capture the moment. Probably. But I liked it even though it was a quick snap through the window as the bus speed down the road.

Hout Bay
Here is another South Africa photo and this one doesn’t include an animal. This is Hout Bay which is south of Cape Town on the Cape Peninsula. We had a nice time exploring this area and as you can see the location is beautiful. Frankly, there was lots of beautiful locations in the country, even if an animal wasn’t in the foreground.

President Hotel
This photo probably won’t be of much interest to anyone else….it’s one of those “you had to be there” photos. This is a photo of the pool (sort of looks like Pac-Man) at the President Hotel in Cape Town South Africa. I was captivated by this pool area. So I went out after sunset one evening to capture this photo with my drone looking down towards the back of the hotel.
They have a water shortage in Cape Town. Therefore, the hotel pumps water into the pool right from the Atlantic Ocean. They keep the water for a few days and then drain it back into the ocean and start all over again. So the water is super cold, since the Atlantic Ocean is freezing this far south in the Southern Hemisphere. Somehow that didn’t stop me from spending an hour in the water one evening.

Jackass Penguins
MJ and I recently visited a large penguin colony at Boulder Beach south of Cape Town South Africa. These penguins were originally called Jackass Penguins due to the noise the adults make….they sound like donkeys. Later the name was changed to Africa Penguins to be politically correct. Honestly, I prefer their original name. These little guys are very cute.
