Brooklyn Bridge

It’s been way to long since my last trip to NYC, but I still have a ton of great photos from that trip.  I’ve always felt safe and enjoyed walking around the city at night alone.  I captured this photo from the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge on one of those solo photo walks.  I think it’s a unique perspective that you don’t see much.

City With A View

Its been a while since I posted a NYC photo and its been a while since my last visit to the Big Apple.  Maybe I’ll try to fit a visit in next year.  I know I can’t fit it into my 2018 travel schedule.  At this point, 2018 is full and 2019 is starting to fill up as well.  We’ll see what I can do.  By the way, I think this view from Brooklyn is amazing.

Pepsi

First, let me say that I am truly sorry.  I disappeared from my website and all my social media sites since September 20th.  As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve been extremely busy with my work and my volunteer activities.   Many of you came back day after day, looking to see if I posted a new update.  I appreciate all your help and I’m sorry I made you wait.

Second, today’s post is from NYC.  This huge sign (look at the people walking below it) is positions on the East River facing back towards Manhattan (across from the United Nations Building).  I used to drink a ton of Pepsi, so this sign caught my eye.

Manhattan Nights

This is one of my favorite spots in NYC.  I’ve been told that this spot was dangerous in the past.  At some point in the last 10 years, the city redeveloped this spot into a great park.  I’ve been to it a few times at night and it’s amazing.  Safe, clean, and beautiful…..plus you can’t beat the view.

Another NYC Pic

I realize the last photo I posted was from NYC as well.  Sorry if that is disappointing to you.  I took this photo from up on the Manhattan Bridge looking back towards Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset.  What a great night and cityscape!  I’ve enjoyed every trip we’ve taken to NYC.

Manhattan Bridge

I like NYC a lot.  Do I love it???  Maybe.  But I think I’d need a few more visits on top of the past visits, before I could claim to love it.  Regardless, I enjoyed by time in the Big Apple and would like to go back.

During my last visit, I spent some time alone at night photographing the Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline.  This was one of the first photos I took that evening as I walked across the bridge to Brooklyn.

NYC Bridge Structure

Our last trip to NYC was such a great time.  We had great weather and hit so many wonderful spots.  This photo is the underside of the Manhattan Bridge.  If you look closely, you’ll see a lady riding her bike between the bridge pillars.  It gives you a perspective of the size of this structure.  Have a great night.

Manhattan Bridge - Empire State Building

Can you see them both?  I took this photo from Brooklyn, looking back between a few buildings on the corner of Washington Street and Waters Street.  There have been many photos taken of this spot.  My version is just one of many and I like them all.  What do you think?  Do you like this night photo of NYC?

NYC Art House

The last couple of times we’ve been in NYC, this Art House has been setup on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge.  You can see the bridge, the East River and Manhattan in the background.   I love this area of NYC at night.  The view of the city is wonderful.  I think it would be hard to find a better cityscape view anywhere else.

Manhattan Bridge

Today’s blog post if one of my favorite photos from our last New York City trip.  Like in the past, I went out on a solo photo walk at night to capture some great cityscapes at and after sunset.  This time I walk over the Manhattan Bridge and found this great shooting location.  I hope you like it.

Fun In NYC

During our latest trip to NYC, I did what I’ve done in the past.  I ran out at sunset and walked the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges capturing photos from the bridges and of the city skylines.  This photo is from the Brooklyn Bridge State Park looking back at the Brooklyn Bridge well after the sunset.

Brooklyn Bridge

I loved our trip to NYC last year.  I don’t have any plans to go back, but that’s not because I don’t want to.  It just isn’t in the cards right now.  While I was there, I spent a few hours alone one night photographing the NYC skyline from the Brooklyn Bridge Park and walking back to Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge.  It was a wonderful few hours that resulted in some amazing photos and an experience I’ll never forget.

Brooklyn Bridge

What to post tonight?  What to post?  There are nights when I don’t have a great idea about what photo to post for your viewing.  During those times, I’ll ask MJ for her opinion.  Generally, she looks at me like I’m nuts….which is true.  I’ve been working through the Iceland trip trying to process all those photos.  Because of that, I’ve been posting a lot of Iceland pictures lately.  And I am sure I’ll post more as I continue through that project.  I just keep finding one great picture after another.

But tonight I wanted to break that trend and post something different.  So I have this photo from Brooklyn looking across the East River at the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan.

From the places I’ve traveled to over the last year, what would you like to see next???  Let me know by leaving a comment below.

Brooklyn Bridge

I took this picture on the pedestrian sidewalk above the traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge at around 1am during our visit to NYC.  Typical of NYC, there was still lots of people everywhere including on the bridge.  I had to wait until the right moment to capture this without anyone in the shot.
