Miami Beach Lifeguard Shacks

A combination of drone and land-based photos from our last Miami trip.  I tried to photograph the lifeguard shacks at different times of the day.

Iceland Glacier Runoff

Have I mentioned in the past that I love Iceland?  We’ve traveled there twice, and I’d love to go again.  The landscape photography opportunities are limitless, and every location is beautiful.

Bonaire Salt Flats

It’s been a minute since our last trip to Bonaire… I took this series of photos from the southeastern coast of the country with my drone.  It is common to have lots of wind in Bonaire and this day was very windy.  My drone didn’t love it

Miami Beach Lifeguard Shack

I’m taking a break from urban exploration and Ukraine photos for a second.  Here is something a little happier.

I took this series of photos during a past trip to the beach.  Per my normal routine, I got up early several mornings to capture the sunrise.  This was a great morning and the lifeguard shacks helped make for an interesting subject.  I also posted a behind the scenes video below of this morning.

Vestrahorn Mountain

During our first trip to Iceland, MJ and I didn’t go to this site.  Honestly, I didn’t even know about it at that time.  In preparation for the 2nd trip, I discovered it online and put it on our itinerary and I am so glad I did.

It was about 30 minutes off the main road to the end of this peninsula.  It cost us about $7 each to get access to the black sand beach and dunes, plus we got a chance to visit the Viking Café.  They also have a recreated Viking Village, that we didn’t visit since we spent all our time out hiking around the black sand dunes and capturing photos of the Vestrahorn Mountain in the background.  Like most amazing geographic locations, photos don’t do them justice, which is true of the mountains this photo as well.

This is a must-see Iceland spot.  As a bonus, when MJ and I were leaving the location, we came upon a wild herd of reindeer.  That was a “first” for me.

Bonaire Flamingo

Blair and I explored this partially built, abandoned hotel the last time we were in the country of Bonaire together.  Since then, I think someone has started to redevelop this site.

Either way, I loved the graffiti flamingo painted on this patio column.

Vik

This little church in the village of Vik is often photographed from numerous perspectives.  There are a couple of cool rock formations in the ocean off the coast of Vik (behind the church from this angle).  In the future, I’ll share a photo of this church from a different angle where you’ll be able to see them as well.  In this photo, I was trying to frame the church with the purple Lupine wildflowers in the foreground.  By the way, the Lupine flowers are everywhere in Iceland.  Anyway, I hope you like this photo as much as I do.
