I took this photo a couple of years ago on the top floor (mechanical space) of an abandoned factory in Detroit. Thankfully, it rained hard that morning helping me capture this reflection in the rain puddle.

I really don’t know what to say about this photo. I’ve been to this spot numerous times over the years and taken photos on these stairs a few different times. I took this version back in 2018. This is an iconic abandoned spot in Pittsburgh that moves back and forth between locked up and wide open. The last time I went, it was locked up.

Right before the COVID outbreak in the United States, a few of us completed a road trip to Gary Indiana for the sole purpose of photographing a bunch of abandoned buildings. This is one of the many gyms we explored during trip.

I hope you have a great weekend. I don’t have any solid plans other then to relax, do some work around the house and spend time with family.
I took this photo last spring when Bob, Theatherwiz, Blair and I spent a weekend capturing photos of abandoned buildings including the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virigina.

I can’t remember which Detroit building this was in…. I should start keeping better track of these things. Anyway, I liked this graffiti mural within this facility.

I haven’t posted a photo from this spot recently. This is from the abandoned prison outside of Pittsburgh. Blair and I were given official access to explore and photograph it. This was one of many long boring (but interesting) hallways inside the facility.

By the way, I met a legend in the Pittsburgh Photography circles tonight. It was nice meeting JP Diroll ( @jpdirollphotography ). You can see his work on this website (http://jpdirollphotography.com) and all his social media channels.
I love this abandoned hotel. The ball room where I took this photo and the attic are great spots. I’m not sure who painted this mural and I wish I knew. I love the colors and general design. The artist has talent.

This beauty is from our Motown Urbex trip earlier this year. This was the second time I’d been to this site. I don’t remember this orange chair in the past, but it made for a nice focal point in this photo. I love the graffiti on the back wall as well.

This photo is from our Detroit Urbex trip last spring. We visited a ton of sites while we were there. This is from Bradley Elementary School. This was one of those old style gyms that they also used as the cafeteria. You know the type, where the tables and benches fold up into the walls to clear the space for gym class.

I hope everyone in the United States enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. We hung out with family, relaxed and got a little Urban Exploration in while the family was here. We visited a number of cool abandoned buildings. Isn’t that what you do with your visiting family…take them to abandoned buildings?

Is it just me, or does this red chair look like it has the Detroit Red Wings logo on it??? I took this photo inside the abandoned china factory outside of Pittsburgh. This is a great bando spot.
